Dear Parents and Carers                                                                                 28 June 2019

Today is our annual Summer Fair and Sports Day. The sun is shining and I am sure it will be an enjoyable event.

This week some of our Year 6 children went to the Conway Centre in Wales. This is part of their transition to Tarporley High School. During their residential, the Year 6 children met their new classmates and some of their new teachers. The children had an amazing time and got involved in all sorts of trips and activities including canoeing and raft building.

It was the Foxes turn for fund raising this week. Thank you to all those parents who took time out to accompany our Foxes on their sponsored run up Old Pale. It is a steep hill, but every one made it right to the top and back.

On Tuesday, our newest pupils had their very first afternoon in their new school. They were all amazing and it was a very successful event. We look forward to seeing them all next week for our Teddy Bears’ Picnic.

Year four, Nunsmere, had a lovely morning at Pizza Express. They all had lots of fun learning all about how to make pizza and they all got the chance to make their own. The highlight for them all was tucking in to their creations at the end of the session.

We have held our annual Sports Week this week with all the children taking part in a variety of sports events including: dodgeball, handball, benchball and Danish Longball. Competing within their houses the children have been aiming to win points, which will be added to the points they achieve in today's Sports Day events. All the children have tried their best this week and have shown great team spirit.

This year Pickmere class have taken part in an art competition called Dot Art. This competition is run in conjunction with the Storyhouse in Chester. Each child produced a piece of work based on an animal. This is then posted online and the public vote for their favourite pieces. This event is very successful and many primary and high schools throughout Cheshire take part. In this year’s competition Thomas Hill came third, Charlie Barratt came second and Isla Bushell came first! All three have received prizes and Isla's work is currently being displayed in the Old Library next to Storyhouse so feel free to go along and see the wonderful work!

Also this week our Year 5 and 6 team played exceptionally well in the Sandstone Sports Partnership Tennis competition at Tarporley High School.

Enjoy the sunshine and we hope to see as many of you as possible at our Beer and Gin Festival.
