Dear Parents and Carers                                                                                                                12 July 2019

The Key Stage Two performance of Matilda this week was spectacular. The hard work from the children in Linmere to learn all their lines and songs was evident throughout the performance. It was lovely to see each child shine, and how much confidence they have gained during their time at school. I hope each child is as proud of their achievements as we are of them. The rest of Key Stage Two sang and danced beautifully too; they sat perfectly and were a great support to Linmere.

Sandymere and Oakmere children visited The Runway Visitor Park at Manchester Airport on Monday to learn lots of great facts. Whilst there the children were given a guided tour in the cabin of a DC10 aircraft and then they took part in role-play situations to explore some of the many different careers at the airport. Behaviour at all times was amazing and the children even got the chance to see Concorde.

On Tuesday, Linmere visited Chester Cathedral for a special Diocesan Leavers Service.  We took part in the service and some of the Year 6 children were chosen to read a passage from the bible about perseverance, belief and overcoming fear.  The service was a lovely celebration of the children's time at Primary School.

This week our girls’ cricket team represented Chester at the Cheshire County Cricket Finals. This took place at Warrington Cricket Club where our team competed against other schools from Cheshire and Warrington. The standard of cricket was very high throughout the day with our girls finishing as County runners up which is a fantastic achievement! Mr Freeman was very impressed with our team performance as well as their excellent sportsmanship and positive attitude throughout the competition.

We have quite few events planned during our final week so please take note of these events listed at the bottom of the newsletter. On Monday at 10:50 am, we will announce the house cup winners. An exciting trip has been planned for the winning house on Wednesday, details of which will be sent out on Eezee Trip to all those involved. Linmere are visiting Blakemere Village on Tuesday for a fun filled day of outdoor activities.  On Friday we will be holding our annual Awards Ceremony. All Linmere parents and families are welcome, and please be seated in the hall for a 9:30 am start.

On Monday your child will be sent home with their end of year report, which will also include yearly attendance. We welcome any feedback on the enclosed form. A parent drop-in session will take place in each classroom on Wednesday 17 July from 3:30 - 5:00 pm. We finish for the summer on Friday 19 July at 3:15 pm, please note there will be no WAC Club that evening.

Have a lovely weekend.
