This week we hosted the first of Academy Trust Sports events with our annual Year 2 Football Festival. Teams where invited from St Martin's Academy, Oak View Academy and Ellesmere Primary with the emphasis on our infants developing their football skills and experiencing friendly competition against other schools. The games where confidently officiated by four of our KS2 children who did an excellent job in refereeing and scorekeeping. In the end, the winners of the Delamere Cup where Delamere 'Reds.' Well done to all 50+ children who took part!

This week our football team took part in the 1st Round of the Chester Primary Schools Cup when they took on The Arches. In a very exciting game, Delamere came from 3-0 at half time to win 5-4 and progress to Round 2. The team played exceptionally well and demonstrated a 'never give up' attitude to turn this game around. Goal scorers where Thomas Ford who scored a hat trick (...including a goal from his own half!) and Thomas Johnson who scored two. Man of Match was Callum Heath who put in an excellent display in the heart of our defence.

Also this week, the KS2 children moved on to a new sport in PE - Hockey. This week the children have been learning the correct way to hold he stick, how to dribble showing good control, and how to pass accurately. They have also started to take part in small-sided hockey matches which they have thoroughly enjoyed.

In KS1 the children have been working on ball skills with a focus on throwing and catching and working as part of a team in netball-style games. The children are developing really well and are able to throw and pass the  ball accurately and work within a team in a netball-style game called End Ball.
