Happy New Year!

Our KS1 Handball team have started 2018 off with a bang by winning the Sandstone Sports Partnership Handball competition! During PE lessons last term our infants had been working hard on developing their fundamental skills of throwing, catching and moving (dribbling) with the ball. They where able to put these skills into practice during this event and played fantastically well as a team. Well done to all that took part.

This term the children will be focussing on the creative aspects of the curriculum through gymnastics and dance lessons. Starting with gymnastics all the classes have been working on different aspects of gymnastics such as; balancing (individual and partner), jumping and landing, and creating short routines.

This week we have also had two visitors in PE lessons. On a Monday up until half term we are delighted to bring in Rob Oakley who is a FA Skills coach. Rob will be delivering football sessions to our infant classes where the children will be developing skills such as passing, dribbling and shooting. On Friday mornings Owen Williamson from the Cheshire Cricket Board will be coming in to deliver cricket sessions to Pickmere and Blakemere as part of the England Cricket Board's 'Chance to Shine' programme.

Have a good weekend.

Mr Freeman
