This week we have continued our excellent link with the other schools within the Academy Trust by taking part in two sporting events. On Tuesday Mr Freeman organised a Year 4 Handball festival in which Delamere ran out as winners and on Wednesday a group of our Year 2 children where lucky enough to go to Delamere Forest for an Orienteering competition.

These events are always fantastic and help instil sporting values in our children from a young age. They also help develop better communication, improve their teamwork and appreciate the importance of trying their best, good sportsmanship and being a gracious winner or loser.

Also this week our Year 5 & 6 Netball team finished as runners up in the Sandstone Sports Partnership Competition at Tarporley High School. Well done girls!

Although we are approaching half term we have a very busy week of sporting fixtures/ events next week;

  • 14/02/18 - Sports Ambassador/ Change 4 Life Champions Training
  • 14/02/18 - Year 5&6 Football vs Dodleston (Away)
  • 15/02/18 - Year 5&6 High 5 Netball Competition @The Bishops High, Chester
  • 16/02/18 - Year 5&6 Cup Football vs St Clare's (Away)

Finally, we received some exciting news this week that we have been shortlisted  in the category of 'Outstanding Primary School' for Physical Education and Sport at the Youth Sports Trust Awards! We will keep you updated as to how we get on.

Have a good weekend.

Mr Freeman
