Due the bad weather a number of planned sports competitions had to be cancelled this week, however, the children have still been very busy during their PE lessons this week. Our youngest children in Hatchmere have continued to work very hard during their gymnastics lessons and this week transferred these skills onto the apparatus. The children had great fun coming up with creative ways of traveling and showing control in their balances and jumps.

With another of our Academy Trust Sports Competitions just around the corner this one being KS1 Tag-Rugby our children in Oakmere and Sandymere have been working on their passing and receiving skills as well as learning the rules of the game. In KS2 our children have been continuing to develop their netball skills working on aspects of the game such as possession, shooting and defending. On Wednesday, Pickmere braved the arctic conditions to take part in a really competitive inter-class netball tournament.

Weather permitting we have lots of sports events to look forward to next week;

Monday 5 March - Year 3/4 Netball league fixture @ Waverton & Year 5/6 Netball league fixture @ Upton Heath

Wednesday 7 March - Academy Trust Break Dancing Masterclass event @ St Martin's Academy

Thursday 8 March - Year 5/6 Cross-Country @ Tarporley High School

Friday 9 March - Trip to British Gymnastics Finals @ Liverpool Echo Arena & Year 5/6 North West Schools Swimming Gala @ Everton Park Leisure Centre

Have a good weekend,

Mr F.
