This week a team of our upper Key Stage Two children took part in an athletics competition at Tarporley High School. The children competed fantastically well in a variety of track and field events finishing fourth place overall.

In PE the children have been focussing on gymnastics. The children in Hatchmere having been learning different body shapes and balances and have took part in the 'Beanbag Challenge' where they needed to stay really still in their balances whilst their team placed beanbags on different parts of their body...great fun!

In KS2 the children have been taking part in cooperative learning lessons. Working in small teams the children have taken on different roles such as: coach, encourager, equipment manager and recorder. Working through different gymnastics skills cards it has been fantastic to see the children not only develop their gymnastics skills but also their key life skills such as: communication, team work and resilience. I look forward to seeing the routines each group comes up with over the next few weeks.

Also this week, a group of our children were lucky enough to take part in a netball masterclass training session with International netball player Laura Malcolm. This was a really inspiring experience for the children and a unique opportunity to receive coaching from an elite athlete.

Have a great weekend.

Mr F.
