Sports Update 29/03/18

Despite us being in the last week of term we have still had a very busy and exciting week of PE and Sport. On Tuesday our Year 5&6 team travelled to Oak View Academy to take part in a friendly football fixture. This was a great game with lots of good skills, sportsmanship and teamwork on display. Well done to all of the children who took part. 

On Wednesday, we where invited to The Athlete Factory which is a new Functional Fitness Facility owned by our Academy Trust Sports Ambassador, Phil Greening.

Sports Update 23/03/18

We have had an extremely busy week this week full of sporting fixtures, festivals, trips and events!

To start the week Mr Freeman and three of our Year 5 girls travelled to the Bolton Arena to take part in the Youth Sport Trust Girls Active training session. This was a fantastic experience which the girls thoroughly enjoyed and we returned to school with lots of inspiration and ideas on how to develop girls PE and sport even further within our school...watch this space!

Sports Update 16/03/18

It has been another busy and exciting week on the PE and sporting front at Delamere this week with lots of sports fixtures, trips and events taking part. Last Friday myself and Mr Huddart took a group of KS2 children to watch the British Gymnastics Championships at the Liverpool Echo Arena. This was a fantastic experience for the children as they got to witness close up world class gymnasts taking part in a variety of events. Equally exciting (...well for myself and Mr H anyway) was bumping into "Mini Me" outside of the arena!

Sports Update 09/03/18

Lots of exciting PE and Sports activities have been taking place in school this week. We started the week with our Lower KS2 and Upper KS2 Netball teams continuing their impressive form in their Chester Netball Leagues. Our Year 5/6 team playing two matches winning one and loosing the other and our Year 3/4 team remaining undefeated with an excellent team performance against Waverton.

Sports Update 02/03/18

Due the bad weather a number of planned sports competitions had to be cancelled this week, however, the children have still been very busy during their PE lessons this week. Our youngest children in Hatchmere have continued to work very hard during their gymnastics lessons and this week transferred these skills onto the apparatus. The children had great fun coming up with creative ways of traveling and showing control in their balances and jumps.
