Stories with familiar settings
This week Oakmere class continued with their literacy theme of 'stories with familiar settings,' looking at the book 'Not Now Bernard!' On Monday, the children completed a thumbnail gallery of the characters, using their knowledge of sentence structure along with knowledge of the text to describe the characters.
The Little Red Hen
This week in literacy, Hatchmere have been reading the traditional tale, The Little Red Hen. We created a picture walk to retell the story and a story map, sequencing the events. We also talked about how important is to help others and why Little Red Hen did not share her bread at the end.

Learning to tell the time
This week in Blakemere the children have been learning to tell the time. They have worked really hard to learn the new concepts of analogue and digital timings. Using their clocks they have been able to solve many problems.
We will fight them on the beaches...
This week we have stated our new Literacy topic , it is a narrative unit looking at well known authors.
