Survival Skills
This week the children in Blakemere have extremely hard in their tests and performed to the best of their ability.
Hatchmere's Forest Schools Week!!
Hatchmere have had a wonderful, exciting and engaging week learning in the woods. The children have really enjoyed this experience and thrived learning in the outdoor environment. The fresh air has made for some very tired children and teachers too.
By Royal Order
Naomi Wilson and her family were lucky enough to attend the Royal Visit at Chester Zoo this week. Mr Docking also went and was one person away from chat with Prince Philip! It was a stunning morning and credit to all staff at Chester Zoo who made this such a special event for all those who were invited and the residents of Chester. Well done!
Chester Half Marathon Children's Fun Run
Well done to Christian and Scarlett Whittall who took part in the Chester Half Marathon Children's Fun Run on Sunday. The course which goes around the Chester Racecourse is up to 4 miles long and regularly attracts up to 500 fun runners. Congratulations to both of you!
Working hard and having lots of fun!
We hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend!
As ever, we have been busy working hard and having lots of fun! In our Topic work we have learnt about the history of the Olympic Games and have begun to make a 3D model of continents of the world. We are then going to create a timeline, mapping out the key events from the beginning of the Olympics to present day.
Preparing for next weeks SAT'S
Although this week has been shorter due to the bank holiday, the children have still been incredibly busy. In Sandymere the children have been preparing for next weeks SAT'S, making an Olympic dictionary and learning about shapes. In Oakmere, the children have been learning about subtraction, halving and division both inside and outside the classroom. In literacy they have made a fantastic class Olympic dictionary using 'Comic Life' on the Apple Mac computers. In topic work, both classes are using ICT and art to investigate different areas of the Olympics and the sports involved. Well done to all the children in Sandymere and Oakmere.
Well done Hatchmere Class!
Assembly
Well done to all the children in Hatchmere for their brilliant assembly. I was very proud of how confident you all were and how you told everybody what you had been learning. A huge thank you to all those parents and carers who came along to watch, we hope you enjoyed it. It made it a really special occasion for the children to celebrate their achievements this term.
