Wellbeing

Here at Delamere we work very hard to ensure the wellbeing all of our stakeholders, that includes our children and their families, staff and our Governors. In September 2018 we received 'The Wellbeing Award For Schools". This is a national standard for positive metal health and emotional wellbeing. To date we are still only one of a small number of schools to have received this award.

Mental Health , physical and emotional wellbeing is an essential part of what we do. We run a whole host of wellbeing and Nurture interventions for our children and staff to access. This includes weekly access to our school counsellor Lia, Drawing and talking ( play based therapy ), Next steps, E.L.S.A and Lego therapy. Each year we dedicate a week to raise the profile of mental health and mindfulness, and a week to to Healthy Eating and Lifestyles. On a daily basis our children have access to centrally located Wellbeing boxes that include a range of well-being , mindful and stress busting activities. Within our building we have established a nurture room , this small private room has calming lightening, aromatherapy and music which all of our children have access to.

Here is a parents information page for some activities to take part in: https://www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/parents-and-carers/
