Blakemere have had a range of learning experiences this week!

In topic this week the children have taken on a Design and Technology task of planning and designing their own guitars! The children worked really hard on how they would look and have made some brilliant designs using cardboard, tape, string and Gum strip. The children were so proud of their designs and they had such fun, which was lovely to see. In science this week we took part in a Live Teaching Session with WWF expert Annette Ohlson. The session was all about Penguins and Polar Bears, learning: a range of information, discussing their habitat and threats to their habitat. The children listened really well and asked some brilliant questions too! In Literacy the children started work on their 500 Words competition entry, they have used an image as a stimulus and have created some really exciting ideas.

We have also had a brilliant time in the drumming workshop and celebrating Pyjamarama day for charity!

In maths the children have been learning about perimeter, not only calculating the total perimeter but also solving problems where they had to identify missing measurements and explain their reasoning.

Have a lovely weekend.
