This week Hatchmere enjoyed the Bible story Noah's Ark

The class looked in the Bible for the story of Noah's Ark and set off around the classroom to explore the story further.  In the Water play area, children worked together to balance pairs of animals inside a big Ark in the water trough.  The children learnt quickly how to spread the heavier animals in the Ark to avoid any water coming in!  Construction areas were available in both the indoor and outdoor classrooms and it was lovely to see the children use their imagination to build their own design of an Ark!  Here you can see the children counting the animals in two's.  The art area and writing tables were filled with resources for the children to retell the story. Great work Hatchmere!

Hatchmere made play dough from scratch this week! They carefully measured 2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup of salt, 1 cup of warm water, 2 table spoons of oil and a few drops of food colouring.  The children really enjoyed making the dough and have been enjoying moulding their dough into different shapes!

To end the week we played a game of tricky words Bingo!  This was great fun and soon became very competitive!

We hope you all had a lovely Bank holiday,

Mrs Birks, Mrs Lathaen, Mr Hunt and Mrs Young
