We were so excited for sports day!

Hatchmere took part in their first school sports day!  The children arrived very excited wearing their house colours and got ready to start the morning. Mr Freeman set up the playground ready for the class to take part in three fun races.  It was lovely seeing the children cheer each other on and enjoy themselves on this sunny day.  We were greeted by house mascots who clapped and cheered for us too!  The children were delighted to see them through the day! We then walked onto the field for a delicious ice cream and sat in the shade.

After our ice cream and a drink, we walked over to the track to take part in two races; a running race and an obstacle race.  The team were all very impressed, the children were fantastic!  We then made our way to the hall to collect a tasty freshly cooked pizza from the pizza oven and went into the classroom to enjoy our lunch and have a little rest from the sunshine.  Mrs Clayton announced the results to the children and together we celebrated our achievements of the day.  It was so lovely to be able to celebrate sports day and share this special memory together.

This week the children enjoyed the story 'What The Ladybird Heard At The Seaside' by Julia Donaldson. Here are a few pictures of the children acting out the story in the sand using cut out characters and also a group of children retelling the story using the white boards.

Another highlight of the week was a summer fair organised by our Year 6 buddies!  It felt so special to spend time with our buddies and we were all so impressed by all the incredible hard work year 6 had done to make the fair so fantastic.  We had the best time, thank you Year 6!

We can't believe we have almost reached the end of the academic year.  A big thanks to all the team in Hatchmere over the year; Mrs Inskip, Mr Hunt, Mrs Young and Jess.

Here's to a wonderful last few days together,

Mrs Birks and Mrs Lathaen.
