Welcome back to the summer term Sandymere, it’s been lovely to see you all back in the classroom.

This week has been a week of starting new topics, in literacy we have started looking at our new vehicle text called ‘Jack and the Baked Beanstalk and the children created some fantastic adverts for Jack’s fast food van.

In maths we have been looking at 2D shapes and we’ve been really impressed with how the children have been using mathematical terminology to talk about the shapes.

The new topic tittle for this term is ‘What is that sound I hear?’ focusing on the history of music. On Wednesday we created our topic book covers and looked at the key terminology for the topic and wrote definitions for the words.

Then finally, in science this afternoon we started our new topic focusing on plants by starting with a Spring plant and tree hunt around the school grounds.

This week information about the residential, Mark from Get Outside the Classroom is going to run a Zoom session for us, which will be really useful for all your questions.

We hope you have a lovely weekend.

Miss Hume, Mrs Lloyd, Mrs Dodd and Mr Taylor
