In the uncertain times that we are currently living in, it is important that we are fully prepared for the possibility that we may have to have a full or partial closure of school depending on the local Covid-19 situation.

There will also be instances where individual children or classes will be self-isolating due to coming into contact with a positive case of Covid 19.

As a school we are producing detailed plans for remote education so that children will have access to a high quality education at home. As we put these plans together they will be put onto this page.

The main source of communication between the teacher and home when remote education is taking place is Google Classroom. Your child’s login details for Purple Mash, MyMaths, TTRockstars and Google Classroom have been put into the front of their reading diaries but please do let the class teacher know if you are unable to access it.

Please find further information below about each of the online learning platforms that we use:

All children from Year 1 to Year 6 have a login for Times Tables Rockstars. This is a fantastic website that supports children in learning their times tables.

Once your child has logged in they should play in Garage mode. This has an automatic training mode which starts with easy times tables and as the children get them correct it adds in more and more times tables. This means that it is pitched at the right level for the children so they're able to practise getting quicker at tables that they know rather than struggling over many that they don't know.

Purple Mash (KS1 and KS2)

Purple Mash is an online portal containing many activities for a full range of subjects. Each child has their own login and teachers can set tasks for the children. When children complete a task on Purple Mash they can submit it to their teacher who can comment on it.

NumBots (reception)

NumBots is an online game and playing little and often will significantly improve your child’s recall and understanding of number bonds and addition and subtraction facts. These are critical foundations in maths so we are excited by the impact NumBots will have.

MyMaths is an interactive time-saving resource for use in the classroom and at home that is easy to use alongside any other maths resources to consolidate learning.

Google Classroom

Google Classroom is a free web service developed by Google for schools that aims to simplify creating, distributing, and grading assignments. Every child has their very own Google Classroom account and this is how work will be assigned to them. They can also email the class teacher using the class emails.
