Sports Update 11/10/19

On the sporting front this week a group of our KS1 children took part in the Sandstone Sports Partnership Cross-Country event at Tarporley High School. As usual we had a fantastic turn out with over 30 of our infants taking on the challenge of this long distance race. All of the children tried their absolute best and finished the race with huge smiles on their faces, albeit a little wet and muddy! Well done to all of the children who represented the school so well.

Sports Update 27/09/19

This week has been one of the very few where there has been no sporting events taking place. In PE lessons the children have continued to work extremely hard in a variety of sporting activities. Hatchmere have been learning to dribble the ball in football showing close control and are now looking at how to pass the football with accuracy. In KS1 the children have been developing their passing technique in rugby and KS2 children have been learning the rules of tag-rugby through taking part in a variety of small sided games.

Sports Update 20/09/19

This week we hosted the annual North West Academies Trust KS1 Football Festival. This is the first of a host of sporting competitions between the seven primary schools within the Trust. This was a fantastic event with over 70 infants taking part in some friendly sporting competition. As always Mr Freeman was assisted by a group of Year 6 Sports Leaders who took on various roles such as referee, score keeper and warm up/ skills coach.

Sports Update 13/09/19

It has been a very busy week on the PE and sports front. On Wednesday Pickmere class went to watch the Tour of Britain Cycle Race passing through Willington. This was a fantastic experience for the children to see these elite level cyclists in action and we also made it onto ITV4's live coverage!

Sports Update 19/07/19

It has been a very busy last couple of weeks with our children taking part in sports competitions and attending trips. 

Last week our Girls Cricket team represented Chester at the Cheshire County Cricket Finals at Warrington Cricket Club. The standard of cricket was very high throughout the day with our girls finishing as County Runners Up, a fantastic achievement! I was most impressed with our teams performance as well as their excellent sportsmanship and positive attitude throughout the competition.
